About Xploreum
The companion we wanted on our own trips.
Xploreum is a subscription platform for outdoor and adventure travel. Its AI agent companion, Xavier, turns a plain-language trip idea into an Xpedition: a personalized, day-by-day outdoor plan on an interactive map.
What we are building
Xploreum is built for outdoor and adventure travel specifically, not travel in general. It plans around terrain, what your vehicle can handle, seasonal access, permits, and the logistics of being far from a road, rather than flights and hotels.
A great adventure trip takes upwards of sixteen hours to plan and still comes out generic. The pieces live in different places: a trail database, a map app, a campsite booking site, a weather page, a permit portal. Someone has to make all five agree. Xavier does that in one conversation, and hands you the result as a map you can actually use.
We are a small, purpose-led company. The goal is not to encourage travel at any cost. It is to help people explore with greater intention, choose experiences that genuinely fit them, support local outdoor knowledge, and care for the places that make adventure possible.
What Xavier does today
- Plan a trip in one plain-language conversation and get a mapped Xpedition, usually in under a minute.
- Day-by-day organization of routes, driving legs, trails and trailheads, campsites, stays, fuel and meal stops, and activities.
- Open individual waypoints in the mapping app you already use, for navigation.
- Edit the plan with Xavier, save as many Xpeditions as you want, and share a finished trip.
- Keep your own reservation details and confirmation numbers in a booking log attached to the trip they belong to.
- Have Xavier remember how you travel, and use it on your next trip.
And what it does not do yet
- Xavier does not book anything on your behalf, and there is no in-chat payment or reservation.
- The Garage, an AI-powered vehicle builder and tracker, is still being built.
- The Equipment Closet, for gear organization and wish lists, is still being built.
- Community features and gear deal alerts are planned, not live.
- There are no native offline maps.
Xavier is also not a replacement for a trained guide, an emergency service, or a park authority. Check permits, weather, trail and road conditions, closures, and fire rules with official sources before you leave. The FAQ lists where to find them.
Who builds it
Xploreum is built by Armin and Hadis, founders who have shipped AI products and guided trips on three continents. They work from San Francisco and Montréal. Xavier is built around the ways outdoor trips actually go wrong: a day that is too long, a camp that does not line up with the next leg, a permit nobody checked.
Hadis Hesabi is CTO and co-founder, and the named editorial owner of the Adventure Planning articles published on this site. Those articles regularly compare Xavier to other tools, so the standards they are held to are published in full, including how competing products are described and how our own product claims are limited to what has actually shipped.
Xperts are the local outdoor providers Xavier can surface for a trip: lodge owners, outdoor guides, mountain guides, outfitters, activity providers, cooks, and bush pilots. Xploreum does not run a verification programme for them and does not describe them as certified.
How Xploreum makes money
Xploreum is a subscription business. It does not earn commissions, take rates, transaction fees, or booking fees on anything arranged between travelers and providers. Building and saving an Xpedition is free; the complete itinerary requires Xplorer Pro. The FAQ has the current pricing, and the Xploreum checkout is the final word on it.
